Enugu state government commiserates with the Catholic church.

Commissioner of Education in Enugu state, Professor Uche Eze, has on behalf of the government of the state commiserated with the, Catholic Diocese of Awgu, over the loss of its pupils and staff in an auto crash.

About seven pupils and two staffers of Presentation nursery and primary school Awgu(owned by the Catholic Diocese), had lost their lives in an accident on wednesday, which had a total of twenty-one casualties.

Professor Eze who was accompanied on the visit by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Nwanneka Onah, sympathised with the Bishop of Diocese, Most Rev. John Okoye, and the entire Diocese, stating that the state government was pained by the loss of lives and is with them at this time of grief.

“This is a very big loss, not only to the Catholic Diocese of Awgu and the families of the children but to the entire humanity.

The Governor of Enugu State was saddened by the news of the death of the school children and he has assured of his solidarity and support of Enugu State Government in this tragedy.”
