Nigeria’s Federal Executive Council(FEC) after its weekly meeting held earlier today, has approved N623.7m for the Nigeria Customs Service for the purchase of computer sets to service its various area and zonal commands.
Minister of Information & Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, at a press briefing after FEC hinted that it was the Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmad, who presented the memo for the award of the contact to FEC.
“The Minister of Finance presented a memo for the award of contract for 1,200 units of colored printers and desktop computers for Human Resources and Accounting Management Systems across zones and area commands of the Nigeria Customs Service, which was approved.
The sum of the contract was N623,700,000 for the 1, 200 desktops and computers for the use of the Customs Service all over the country”, Mohammed said. However, it is not yet clear how soon the said sum will be released or how soon the systems will be supplied.
