Minister of transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has hinted that the federal government under President Muhammadu Buhari is currently sourcing for loans to improve on the nations transportation sector.
Speaking at a symposium to mark his 54th birthday, Amaechi said the Buhari led government intends to build coastal rail from Port Harcourt to Warri and from Port Harcourt to Onitsha, in order to facilitate the movement of goods within the coastal regions.
He reminded the people of Rivers State of his assurances in 2015 that what their brother couldn’t do for them a Fulani man will do, stating that “the man who thinks about your welfare is your brother”.
He blamed corruption for being the bane of Nigeria’s problem, adding that in this era of accountability those who ones had access to the nations treasury have resorted to hiding in their houses with large numbers of police men, “you go to the clubs in Port Harcourt and it is empty because the big men are afraid of having a gun pointed at them when there are returning home”.
Amaechi further assured his audience of the quick implementation of the coastal rail, hoping that the loan request will be granted soon.
