Former governor of Ogun state and director-general of Atiku Abubakar presidential campaign organization, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has claimed his supporters are urging him to pitch his tent with the ruling All Progressive Congress(APC).
Daniel who had thrown his weight behind the APC governorship candidate, Dapo Abiodun for the March 9 gubernatorial elections yesterday submitted his resignation letter from the PDP, informing the party of his decision to quit partisan politics.
Although details of the meeting held at his Maryland, Lagos residence with the Ogun state governor elect weren’t made available, the former governor informed pressmen after a meeting with his supporters earlier today in Sagamu of his decision to follow the yearnings of his supporters.
“Basically, they said I could resign from PDP… they said I must lead them to APC and they also said I could not retire from politics. That is the summary of what I heard”.
Responding to a question about his readiness to join APC, Daniel responded “What else can I say? My people have spoken”.
