Other companies also received waivers. – Dangote Group

As reactions continue to trail revelations that the Dangote Group has been given a waiver to move goods across Nigeria’s land borders, the management of the company has cleared the air on the said waiver.

Anthony Chiejina, Head of Branding and Communication, Dangote Group, said the company alongside others in July this year got waivers from the federal government, to export products with certain sequence of crossing at Ohumbe land border in Ogun State and Ilela border in Sokoto State.

“Dangote Cement is a publicly quoted company and complies strictly with the Securities & Exchange Commission(SEC) and Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) full disclosure clauses and regularly update transparently our transactions to our shareholders and it is disheartening that such honest disclosure is being interpreted negatively.”
