The Lagos state government has directed all schools in the state to resume fully from Monday, 19 October 2020.
A statement signed by the Head of Public Affairs, Ministry of Education, Kayode Abayomi, said the resumption was for the 2020/2021 academic session.
“All public and private schools are strongly advised to put safety first by adhering to the COVID-19 safety protocols and hygiene guidelines as instructed by the state government through the Ministry of Education. The Office of Education Quality Assurance will continue to monitor and evaluate schools’ preparedness.”
The new directive for both public and private schools in the Lagos state is coming on the heels of a warning by the Presidential Task Force(PTF) on COVID-19 that Nigeria might witness a second wave of infections.
